Kali 16 in.: Goddess in the aspect of Liberator. Unlike much Western mythology, Hinduism at all times has recognized the feminine principle, most prominently in the form of consort to Shiva or Shiva-Shakti. The male power, inert, is useless without this energizing female power, conceived of in its benign form as Parvati, and in its fierce or destructive form as Kali. In this terrifying aspect, the goddess drips blood from her devouring mouth, and her huge sword has beheaded the demon Ignorance, while her other two hands signify the blessing implied by this penultimate spiritual deed. The Ancient Goddess, in her warrior aspect of Inanna, Medusa or Athena, served a similar psycho-spiritual function in western cultures. Hand painted Ganges clay $115.00

Thor Plaque: The Thunderer; Handsome Norse Thor is a great adventurer, often skirmishing with giants. His weapon and emblem is his hammer, Mjolnir, and he possesses a belt that doubles his strength.
On his travels, he is sometimes hoodwinked into performing astonishing feats; such as drinking the ocean dry, wrestling with old age or lifting the foundations of the world, only to discover the true identity of his adversary. In one myth, giants stole Thor's hammer and he had to resort to Loki's trick of dressing as Freya and a bride for the giant king to be able to get close enough to retrieve Mjolnir. During the twilight of the gods, it is said Thor and the World Serpent perish together in the battle at the end of the world. 7" x 6 1/4" ResinPlus plaque dusty sand finish. $35.00

Thor Cold Cast Bronze Statue: Here we find the fierce image of Thor, Norse god of lightning and the frequent protector of the Gods and humanity. The subject of numerous Sagas and works of Germanic and Norse mythology, he is said to have wrestled old age to a knee and defeated the fabled Jormungandr, a serpent so vast it was said that it could encircle the world and bite its own tail. With such heroic exploits, he has fast become among the most worshipped and revered of Norse deities. Indeed his fabled hammer has become a symbol revered as an icon of Norse and Germanic pagan faiths. This fabled hammer, Mjolnir, is said to hit every target at which it is thrown and magically return to his hand and throw lightning bolts. In this statue we find him poised upon a cloud as though preparing to hurl lightning from the heavens, or perhaps simply pausing in triumph after striking out against giants whom he was so frequently said to fight. By his feet are the fabled goats Tanngrisnir and Tanngnjostr, magical creatures that Thor could eat so long as he took care to leave their bones whole. When their remains were wrapped up they were able to return to life to pull his chariot. Richly detailed, even down to the engraving on the magical belt that girds his waist, this is a wonderful piece for all who would celebrate the Norse god. Made of cold cast resin, this weighty piece is hand painted so as to appear bronze, and measures 11 1/" tall and 6" wide. $85.95

Valkyrie cold cast bronze statue: This statue proudly displays one of the fierce Valkyrie, who chose who would die in battle. Those they have chosen were taken up into the halls of Valhalla, to live there among the rest of the noble slain. It was there that they became Einherjar, and lived and hunted and trained and hardened themselves for the coming last battle of Ragnorok, where they would fight by the side of Odin and many of the other Norse deities in what would be their last battle. For this, the Valkyries reward them, bearing them mead and tending to the wounds of their preparations. Here she is portrayed astride a charging horse and girded for war, with her cloak and hair flying loose behind her and a Norse sword raised high above her head. Perhaps riding fearlessly across the battlefield, she seeks a warrior brave enough to take back to the fabled halls of Valhalla. Wrought of cold-cast resin in exquisite detail, the whole statue stands 11" tall and 10" in length, and has been hand painted to give this heavy weight piece the look and feel of bronze. This is a fantastic statue for anyone who loves the Norse traditions or has cause to admire the Valkyrie`s noble spirit. $86.95

Lilith Plaque: The First Feminist, dating to 2300 BCE or earlier. This powerful dark-mother goddess is referred to as a demon by Levite priests who wrote the Bible, likely due to her assertive behavior at a time when patriarchy was new. A Sumerian and Hebrew Goddess, she is referred to as the hand of Inanna, who gathered males into the temple for sacred sexual rites. In our tradition she was the original wife of Adam, with whom she claimed equality because they were created together in the image of Elohin (a word for "God" which had feminine as well as masculine linguistic roots). In her hands she holds the rod and ring of Sumerian royal authority (or glyph of 100,000). Lilith wears a stepped crown or turban and is companioned by the bird of wisdom and the king of beasts.  Lilith Statue: This image of Lilith is based largely on a Sumerian clay tablet relief from 2000 BC. She wears the horned crown that marks her as a Goddess not a demon in Sumerian mythology. Lilith appears in Sumerian, Babylonian, Assyrian, Canaanite, Persian, Hebrew, Arabic and Teutonic mythology. She is also known as Adam's "first wife" who refused to "lie beneath." In the oldest mythologies she is a Goddess and in later stories she is demonized. Lilith is a motherless form of the divine feminine even known to some as the wife of Yahweh. Serving the same purpose as a votive candle, he kept the prayers active in the mind of Deity. COATLIQUE: Great Aztec Goddess of Life, Death, and Rebirth.
The monumental 12 ton statue discovered in Mexico City embraces the Great Mother who bestows life and thrives on death. Her head, made by two snakes flowing from her neck, represents the cosmic struggle of dynamic opposites. She is the "Lady of the Serpent Skirt" with a necklace of human hearts, hands and sculls, and grave digging claws on her hands and feet. But like the Hindu Kali she is also the maternal giver of life and birth, a creative fertile force and earth goddess. She combines the womb and the grave. Mother of all Aztec deities as well as the sun, the moon and the stars, she produced all earthly life. Catholic priests, who couldn't bear the sight of her, asked that she be reburied after discovery in 1790 in front of the main plaza at Tenochtitlan. She is sometimes seen as a symbol of pre-Columbian Mexico. [c. 14th century, National Museum of Anthropology, Mexico City]
